When I deliver Leadership and Management training, my first questions I ask the participants are; \u201cWhat do you do now to lead your team?\u201d or \u201cWhat characteristics make a good leader?\u201d Resoundingly, the answer is often; \u201cLead by example\u201d or \u201cSomeone that leads by example.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Why is it important to lead by example?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Quite often actions speak louder than words. Our behaviour and what we do is often mimicked by our team. Put simply, if you want your team to be hard working, show respect and be honest, then you need to demonstrate those qualities consistently yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
By demonstrating the principles and values that are important to you, you will earn trust and gain credibility. By holding yourself accountable for your actions, your team will be more inclined to take responsibility too. All actions have consequences regardless of our stature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Leading by example, in a positive tone, will motivate and inspire a positive workplace culture that leads to higher productivity and strong working relationships.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
