DESCRIPTION:Safe Environments: Through Their Eyes (previous Safe Environments for Children and Young People) \nThis is the approved industry standard certificate for people working or volunteering in an organisation that provides a service to\, or works with children and young people in South Australia. \nOn completing this program\, participants will: \n\nHave an awareness of how their own values\, attitudes and experiences will impact on their understanding of children and young people being harmed and their responses to children and young people who may have suffered harm.\nBe aware of the importance of maintaining a child’s perspective when considering the possibility of children and young people at risk of harm.\nHave the ability to identify a range of indicators concerning harm and risk of harm.\nBe able to discuss the concept of child‐safe environments and shared responsibility for the protection of children and young people.\nBe competent in the process and procedure of reporting to the Child Abuse Report Line and fully understand their legal responsibility to notify any suspicion on reasonable grounds.\n\nThis is an online virtual classroom held over Zoom. It is a Refresher course targetted at people who have done the full course within the last three years. \nThis is the South Australian Department of Human Services approved course. \nPeople working in schools\, early childhood services or Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) may be required to take the Department of Education Responding to Risks of Harm\, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care (RRHAN-EC) training. This may be in place of the SE:TTE training\, or in addition to it. \nIf you are not sure which training is for you\, speak to your organisation.
